This man screams power, and for a split second, I wonder what it would be like to dive into his brand of trouble. To live without limits, just for a while.
This man—this stranger—touches me like it’s his right. Like I’m his to touch.
Maybe people never change and it’s only our perceptions that alter the view.
She laughs. “You don’t ever turn it off, huh?” “Turn what off?” “The charm. You must have had lots of practice, with as good as you wield it.”
“And if you’re a good girl, maybe I’ll show you the real reason why my mouth should be illegal.”
“Darling, no one on this earth could change my opinion of you. I’m afraid it’s already set in stone.”
My arm splays across my chest, holding the fabric in place, a small grin sneaking onto my face. “Say please.” His nostrils flare. “You’re playing a very dangerous game.” I lift a shoulder. “I’m just making sure you don’t forget your manners, darling.”
This man I’ve only known for days, yet he treats me like I’m precious. Like I’m his.
“Just remember that whenever things feel bleak, all situations are temporary. It’s not your circumstance that determines your worth, it’s how you rise from the ashes after everything burns.”
The kiss is anything but sweet. It’s twisted, and toxic; a poison masked in sugar, making you love the taste of death.
I’ve had the past couple of hours to come to terms with the fact that I’m emotionally screwed up. Allowing a man like Hook to touch me, and to revel in the way it feels when he does, seems unhealthy to say the least.
there’s no such thing as good and evil. There are only perspectives, and perceptions change depending on the angle.
“You are, without a doubt, the only good I’ve ever known.” I rest my forehead on hers, my shaky breaths ghosting across her lips, my thumb rubbing against her cheek. “So… don’t lie to me, Wendy, darling. Because my heart won’t survive it if you do.”
I want to tell her that she’s kissing the scar her father helped create, and that somehow, with just her touch, she’s eased the pain.
