This could mean, for example, realizing that our mind-over-matter mentality isn’t something we came up with so we could play a football game with a sore ankle but that it comes from the influence of Greek thought and Enlightenment ideology woven into our social fabric. It also means grasping that our cultural views of land as an object to be used, conquered, or stolen are relics of settler-colonialist ideologies—as is the belief that we are hyper-rational individuals who can exist and thrive outside of community.
