“I ate a lot of ham,” I announced to Kieran before Reaver could fire back another barb. Both males looked at me. “A lot. You’d be proud.” “While I’m glad to hear that,” Kieran began, “that was a little random, Poppy.”
“Why is it that he behaves as I would expect from your husband?”
“Great. Now you two can go chat elsewhere, and I can go back to sleep,” Reaver said.
“I was here when the area I believe we are riding to was known by the name Lasania.” “Lasagna?” Kieran’s brows furrowed while I frowned.
“No. I didn’t say lasagna. I said Lasania. La-sa-nee-ah,” Reaver snapped. “Sounded like lasagna to me,” he muttered.
Isbeth eyed Kieran. “And you look as scrumptious as you did the last time.” Kieran’s lip curled. “I think I will vomit now.”
“Fun times are over,” the Revenant said, lifting a heavy broadsword. “Wrong.” Reaver rose. “Fun times have just begun.”
“Neither of you sound like you think that at all.”
Reaver made a gagging sound. “Did he seriously just say that?” “Unfortunately,” Kieran muttered.
“That is strangely sweet.” “Key emphasis on strange,” Kieran said
