After I left, I walked to the gazebo. I needed some time to reflect and watch the people go by. New moms and dads pushing babies in strollers. Children playing. Teenagers tossing footballs and Frisbees. Older couples walking hand in hand. It never ceased to amaze me how the world worked, with its infinite endings and beginnings happening all at the same time. I was overcome with the same sensation I’d had looking at the stars with Gideon. That feeling of awe and wonder.
