Wow, the wolf was no kinder than the king. I’d gotten used to listening to their bickering, even when I noticed that I was the center of nearly every fight. I put on a blank expression and pretended I hadn’t heard anything.
“Seriously?” I snickered. “I’m a Morrigan, the descendant of a war goddess. I can kick a few tailed asses.” It was the first time I’d told them more about me, and their eyes widened for a fleeting moment at the new information.
It’s not really new when Mari has called her name out loud, Azrael has also said her name and called her a Queen in a bar full of people in the common tongue and I think even Snowflake has said it in front of people… author forgetting stuff and it weakens the story.
Lucifer had mentioned Beelzebub, his lieutenant, and advised me to seek out the fallen angel’s help if I met difficulties removing the head of his son. But I hadn’t approached any of Lucifer’s diehard fans ever since I’d arrived in Hell. Chills swirled in my middle as I pondered whether this uprising had anything to do with Lucifer’s return.
The irony was that the King of the Underworld didn’t have a drop of human blood, but only I knew the truth.
There we go with this dumb shit again. Obviously, not only you know the truth. He has a mother and you had to hear it from somewhere, not the mention his wolf knows. Second, is she supposed to be proud of keeping this secret when sharing it could obviously make life a helluva lot easier on her mate?
intended for the entire battalion to hear what I was going to say. I was beyond caring if the entirety of Hell’s force pasted a target on my back. “Take care of your filthy tongue before I cut it out. Pay your respect when you address His Majesty. King Loki isn’t just Lucifer’s son; he’s also the son of Goddess Hel of Asgard, and thus the grandson of the Asgard God Loki, the God of Shapeshifters.”
I felt moisture well in my eyes, yet I smiled. The wolf would never let anyone hurt me. Even if I couldn’t rely on the Demon King at times, I knew I could always count on the beast in him.
She’s also getting on my nerves with that as well. See how quickly she through Loki under the bus after just saying she misjudged him prematurely? Bipolar ass.
“Stop, Loki,” I said. “You know them. You know every demigod has a lack of empathy and compassion if it doesn’t involve Mari. We can deal with it. We don’t need their compassion, but we’ll need their power when it matters. Mari is on our side, and she’ll always be on our side. As soon as she’s with us, so are her demigods. And they understand that to deal with our powerful enemies, they need to be ruthless.”
