The League secured all the thirty-two seats in the Central Assembly and even defeated the Congress’s Muslim candidates. In the provincial legislatures the League won a massive 427 out of 507 seats.87 It was a timely needed shot in the arm for Jinnah at such a crucial juncture of the subcontinent’s history.
