Except, I didn’t consider how tall he was, a fact that led to the conclusion of long legs. Long legs that were easily catching up to me. Also, the dude was jacked. He clearly worked out, which meant he more than had the stamina necessary to run the distance it took to meet me.
“She’s a lot like you,” he spoke, voice deep and even. “Bold and confident.” I smiled at his words, despite the fact that I hoped she turned out nothing like me. “Thanks. Maya’s a lot like you, too.” I nodded, bringing my gaze back to him. “Strapping muscles and perfect five o-lock shadow.”
“Whatever you do, don’t ask me to spank you.” Face pinching together, I shot him a glance. “Why not?” Dominic shook his head, brows heavy and eyes hardened to charcoal. “Because I just might do it.”
A wide grin splashed up my face. I felt fucking giddy. “Damn. It’s kind of hot when you’re mean.” Dark brows lugged together. “I’m not being mean.” “Fine, then.” My grin turned wicked. “Just hot.”
Thunder clapped inside my chest, placed there by him. His thunder rolled around, clouds of it tangling with my lightning and encouraging it to not strike, but just be. The thunder wanted the lightning’s submission so it could keep it safe, envelop it, do what thunder did best and chase away all that made it scared.
