Sis, Don't Settle: How to Stay Smart in Matters of the Heart

I’m not saying it’s easy to let go of a man, especially when there’s history, but it’s impossible to get to the love you deserve when you’re holding onto what’s not.

They should treat you right the first time, because you can’t guarantee there will be a next time. People who aren’t afraid to lose you should not be shocked when you aren’t afraid to walk away.

If you’re having a lot of problems in your relationship but fighting to hold on to it, is it possible that it’s actually a selfish act because you want to hold them in an unhappy relationship?

At the same time, choosing who we marry is a decision with lifelong implications, and it should never be romanticized without acknowledging the real work involved in staying together. Building a strong foundation early on is key.

Marriage is no different! Break the stigma of not seeking support in your relationship. There’s no shame in seeking counseling, and it’s not an indicator of conflict!

I never listen to criticism from people I wouldn’t take advice from.
