I fucking hate it when guys think they can talk shit about Ivy to me just because she likes to party.
Being in love with your best friend means being painfully aware of the line and constantly toeing it. Giving yourself just enough to take the edge off, but never enough to satisfy the craving.
If I thought for one second that making a move wouldn’t ruin our friendship, I’d do it. I’d tell her how I feel, and then I’d spend every minute afterward showing her. But I learned the hard way that anything more than friendship between Ivy and me is impossible. It’s torture, but I can’t picture my life without her, so I take what I can get and stoically bear the pain.
“Ivy Jean Rivenbark, that man is in love with you. And normally I’d say that’s his problem and not your responsibility, because it is his problem and not your responsibility, but you act like you don’t know.”

“I’ve been wanting to do that all night,” Kelley whispers against my lips. “Yeah?” “Yeah,” he exhales. “You look stunning. Watching you dance and laugh. Seeing you carefree with our friends. That’s when you’re the most beautiful. I’m stuck in your orbit, Ivy Rivenbark.”
“It means I’m going to love you better than anyone can. The only person who will ever love you better than me is yourself, but I’m going to spend all of my life trying to match you. And when your self-love falters, when you doubt yourself or us, my heart will carry yours. I’ll love you big enough for the both of us. I always have, and if you let me, I always will.”
