“Do you want the truth or a lie?” he asks me softly, making tears spring to my eyes. “Lie to me.” Because we both know the truth might kill me. “No, Ivy. I’m not hiding anything else.”
Ivy doesn’t need a hero to carry her away, she needs a villain to cut and slay anyone who stands in her path. Lucky for her, a little blood never bothered me.

Maybe he isn’t the crazy one, maybe it’s me because despite everything, I believe him.
