“Are you afraid it’ll even the playing field? Or perhaps besting those who are physically inferior is what inflates your ego so much.”
I fucking love her sass
“I’ve faced worse monsters, Faythe,” he said with an unexpected but soothing warmth. “Let me help with yours.”
“An amount like that…it’s not only to take away our ability and strength. It’s a means of torture,” he said with no small amount of disbelief. She didn’t care what his reasons were for testing it as she hissed, “Don’t do that again.” An amused smile tugged at one corner of his mouth. “Were you worried about me, Faythe?”
“Don’t even think about it,” he warned. She would have snapped at the gesture, but she found herself amused instead as she looked down at his hand that was yet to release her. “Are you worried about me, Reylan?”
Not her throwing his words back at him 😜
They were annoyingly territorial, dominant, and protective.

What Faythe did, what she thought, what she felt—he was tormented by it all.
Thats called caring for someone you big brute
