Half of all employees at Facebook, from engineers to marketers, accountants to salespeople, make $240,000 a year or more.79 Facebook’s content moderators, who are not employed by the firm but rather contracted via temping agencies, are paid on average $28,000 per annum. Ordinary people who create the contacts, content and conversation on Facebook are, of course, paid nothing.
