“You bought him for me?” “I think he wanted to come home with you as much as you wanted to take him home,” Brady answers, smiling.
“First of all, who says queer boyfriend? That’s just dumb. If I had a boyfriend, of course he would be queer…like duh.”
Every touch seems measured so he doesn’t hurt anyone. Every single word from him means more than an entire conversation with someone else.
“All I’m saying, Son, is that when it comes to Zach, think before you react and don’t take all the love and trust he gives you for granted. Someday you’ll truly understand the depth and beauty of what he gives you. And what you give him.” His hand moves down over my heart. “You’ve given him a lot of space in here. Take care of your heart, Son, because that boy in the kitchen is most of it.”
If he’s not close, I want him close.
“He’s gone, baby. I promise you’re safe now. Come back to me… I promise I’ll be right here with you.”
“My home is with you,” he says instantly.
Five years together and now he’s gone. I feel like my very soul just drove away, and it breaks me into pieces.
He lives and breathes for you.” I live and breathe for him, too. Doesn’t he know that?
I don’t think he has any idea how much I’ve thought of him and missed him or what I would do to make him happy. I’d give him the moon if I could.
When he’s home, you want to be with him. When he’s gone, you wish he was home. You hold him like he’s the most precious gift to you. You talk to him like you would to the person you’re going to spend your life with. You gave him your heart as if he’s the only one who has claim to it.
I’ve found my home in Brady, and I know that I’ll always be his heart.
