“Do you think we’ll be friends forever?” There’s a tremble in his voice that makes me roll onto my side so I can see his face. “Yes, friends forever. You’re going to be my best friend for life, I promise.”
Maybe boys don’t normally say “love” to each other, but I don’t care about that right now. Zach needs some love, and maybe so do I.
You’re my world, Brady.
“I love you, baby,” I whisper in his ear. “I love you more than anything,” he says quietly.
“You really think I’m beautiful?” I kiss his forehead and then his eyelids, the tip of his nose. “I think you are the most beautiful person I’ve ever seen. Especially those dark green eyes of yours.” A tear escapes down his cheek, and I kiss that, too. “You are beautiful, baby.” I lay my hand over his heart, hoping he truly sees how beautiful he is, inside and out.
“You make me feel beautiful.”
“Why does it matter? If you love someone and want to be with them, who cares what your sexuality is? Love is love, Brady.”
“You’re my heart. Always have been and always will be.”
I’ve found my home in Brady, and I know that I’ll always be his heart.
Over the last couple of years, we have changed and discovered more about ourselves, but that only seems to have brought us closer. I used to be scared of change, but now I embrace it. Change helps our love to grow deeper and deeper… more beautiful. One thing is for certain, I’m incredibly proud of the man Brady has become. Life isn’t always easy, but we navigate this journey together. A journey of love…
