In the 1990s, Nader even took on the airline industry with a book called Collision Course, which argued that the FAA was too close to the industry it regulated. After Samya died, Nader blamed himself for not warning her about the MAX. He’d closely followed the Lion Air story and had his own doubts about the plane.
