United States v. Miller, which was a case about the National Firearms Act of 1934. The NFA of 1934 was basically an “Al Capone Is Kind of an Asshole” law. It mandated the registration and allowed for the taxation of firearms, and attempted to create different classifications of guns in order to make certain kinds harder to get. (It’s worth pointing out here that Prohibition was repealed at the end of 1933.
