It didn’t take her long to realize that it wasn’t only poor technique at fault; Evie simply had a lot less magic. Aurora was so used to her own magic being easily accessible and available in abundance that it had never occurred to her Evie would have so little to work with. imagine if we'd gotten some worldbuilding about how magic was imbued in shifters and how it got watered down outside of Old Blood clans... and maybe some more stakes over Evie needing to shift rather than having this happen when they are literally just hanging out and have no urgency at all
