The Turner Diaries has directly inspired far-right terrorism. Pages from the book were found in Timothy McVeigh’s truck after his attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. Both Patrick Crusius, the alleged El Paso Walmart gunman, and John Timothy Earnest, accused of shooting up a synagogue in Poway, California, echoed ideas from the book in their manifestos.
