I spun and blindly reached out to grab Edin, patting him down, trying to feel for injuries. “Are you okay? Did it get you? Are you hurt?” Edin stilled my hands in a gentle grip. “I am fine, Hunter. It didn’t get me.” I exhaled in relief, resting my hand against Edin’s big, solid pec for just a moment, oddly comforted by the smooth heat of his skin beneath my fingers. Then I patted his chest once and let go. “Good.”
