“Hey!” Pike’s angry shout came just before he slammed into Trip, knocking him to the ground. Noel stumbled forward and would have fallen if Anthony hadn’t grabbed her, moving her away from the scuffle.
“So are you. Just because he is a guy doesn’t make him any more important.”
How do you forget about the other half of you? Your person?
Loved her so much he’d be whatever it took to keep her close. Even if not being able to tell her how deep his feelings went ate him up inside.
“Don’t tell your mom she failed!”
They adore you.
Nick shook his head. “Being mad at you doesn’t get me what I want.” “And what’s that?” “You.”
Doing this was hard, but having them there? She didn’t know what she’d do without them.
“Take ’em, they’re yours.”
“I don’t need to have kids to be happy. I don’t even need a piece of paper.” Nick took her hand. “You and me? That’s all I need. The way I feel for you, Noel, is something I can’t control and I don’t want to live without you. You are it for me.”
“I love you, too. Big L. With six exclamation points.” Noel’s eyes twinkled. “Wow. That’s a lot.” “I know.”
A month ago, she’d never imagined she’d be in a darkened bar, getting along with Amber and watching Pike gyrate around in a Santa hat. Even more surprising was being able to type back four little words without any hesitation or sweaty palms. I love you, too.
