“When you’re wanted, you’re invited. If you weren’t invited, then you weren’t wanted.
“Your nightmare is over. Hers is just starting.”
“Get up again, and I’ll kill your mother.”
He and Trevor would never get their hands on her. I’d see her dead first.
“You’re the fucking king, baby!”
“You’re in everything.”
“Let’s watch a movie,” he said as he left the kitchen.
“You’ve already seen it, Rika,” he argued. “I saw you in here watching that movie back in high school. At least twice.” Twenty-one times, actually.
But he wasn’t paying attention to the TV. His eyes were on my legs.
“you liked it, didn’t you? It scared you, but it turned you on.”
“So you like the mask. You’re pretty fucking sick, aren’t you?”
“Just like me,”
I screwed up. I wanted her, and I wanted her to myself tonight.
“but you don’t know what you’ve done to me all these years.”
She and I were the same, after all. We fought shame every day, struggling with who we could let see the real us, and we’d finally found each other. Unfortunately…we were fucked.

I didn’t know exactly what I wanted from her, but I knew I didn’t want to lose her.
And she’d grown very good at having a mind of her own.
and you’re in Michael’s head. He needs to stay focused, and you’re the reason he’s not right now.”
“You finally met your match, huh?”
The smile on her lips reminded me of a younger Rika.
“I don’t know what to do with her,” I said in a low voice.
She was in my body, in my head, and…
I looked down at her, my heart aching at the way she pushed her ...

“You really think you need to prove anything to her?”
“You think she hasn’t been in love with you just the way you are her entire life?”
“That’s what scares you, isn’t it?”
“It doesn’t scare me.” “I hope not,”
