All those unrelated ailments soon became incorporated beneath the umbrella definition of AIDS. Individuals with Candida or Kaposi’s sarcoma and a positive PCR test had AIDS. Those same individuals with a negative PCR would have Kaposi’s sarcoma or Candida.
