To quiet the clamor, Dr. Fauci took to YouTube to reassure the global public that the flu shots were rigorously tested, perfectly safe and that the risks of serious adverse events for the influenza vaccine are “very, very, very small”81 This statement was scientifically baseless. Heavy conflicts of interest marred the underlying studies, which received fast-tracked approval without any functional double-blind placebo-controls.82
