I’ve been thinking about it and some of my anger was justified. My delivery may have been off, but not the sentiment. We women are programmed to feel like we need to apologize for everything. If I bump into someone, my automatic response is ‘Sorry, sorry,’ but why? Maybe they weren’t looking. Maybe they should’ve been watching where they were going!”

Agreed! Try it sometime. Walk with assurance, and don't move when there's a need- men will walk right into you.

“If you felt like I was self-centered, you could’ve told me. You knew me enough to call me out.” “And get the wrath of Amelia Montgomery? No, thank you.”

Much of this book appealed to me as another 40-something. I have always expected that true friends would call me out. I'm finding that's not true.

I’m willing to say I’m sorry even if I wasn’t completely at fault because sometimes you just have to admit you played some role in the mess, even if you can’t pinpoint what that role was. It’s irrelevant.
