Well before their man won the nomination, the Biden team had decided to make the election a referendum on Trump, mostly because abject hatred of Trump was the main—and perhaps the only—unifying issue in the Democratic Party.
Orland Foster
Interesting quote. Aren't all elections referendums on the previous President? Won't the 2024 election be a referendum on President Biden? I mean, isn't that the definition of the word? "a vote in which all the people in a country or an area are asked to give their opinion about or decide an important political or social question:"

there were riots and attempts to keep the Electoral College from voting for Trump.
Orland Foster
There is not 1 reference to any "riots" in the link at all, and the "attempts to keep the Electoral College from voting for Trump" in the article is the single sentence: "Electors had been flooded with emails and phone calls urging them not to support the billionaire." I think this is a bit of a stretch.

There was chatter about using the Twenty-Fifth Amendment to the Constitution—which gives the vice president and cabinet members the ability to remove the president if he is unable to serve—to get rid of Trump.
Orland Foster
Your footnote for this one is an opinion piece? I have a better one for you. How about ABC News reporting that members of Trump's cabinet were discussing it. Not the nasty Democratic operatives - but his own, hand picked cabinet. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/lawmakers-call-trumps-impeachment-wake-capitol-hill-violence/story?id=75097032

and a failed impeachment.
Orland Foster
President Trump was actually impeached two different times. The Senate failed to remove him both times, but he was still impeached twice according to the government of the United States of America. https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/artII-S4-4-9/ALDE_00000035/

When Biden left, he was forced to drive through a crowd of Trump supporters whom he had earlier called “chumps.”12 Just a couple days later, more Trump supporters showed up than Biden supporters to a drive-in rally in Minnesota. An angry Biden yelled at them and called them “ugly” as they drowned out his speech.13 At an event in Toledo, Biden couldn’t be heard over the chants of “Four More Years!” from Trump supporters across the street.14 As Biden spoke to a group of people in their parked cars, enthusiastic Trump supporters blared horns and drowned him out with noise. The same thing was ...more

Because there are more rude Trump supporters means he should have won? I don't see how this helps anything. You don't condem this kind of behaviour - almost seem to encourage it. "Hey, if you act like a complete idiot and are rude as shit - i may put you in my next book!" I truly don't get this.

Voters also feared that election outcomes in states with earlier election dates were influencing how later states voted.

Your footnote on this one makes no sence at all.

The change was enough for former attorney general William Barr to sound the alarm about how widespread early, absentee, and mail-in voting was negatively affecting the voting public.22 Extending voting well beyond voting day “is like telling a jury in a 2-month trial that they can vote any time they want during the trial,” Barr said after the election in an interview at his home. “You can’t say it’s really a national consensus because people are all operating on a different set of facts.”
Orland Foster
The same Bill Barr who said in this article, that the idea that the election was stolen was "bullshit." https://apnews.com/article/barr-no-widespread-election-fraud-b1f1488796c9a98c4b1a9061a6c7f49d

In 2016, it was none other than Marc Elias who hired Fusion GPS, the firm that cooked up the “Steele dossier,” named after former British spy Christopher Steele.44 Fusion had hired Steele to put together opposition research on Donald Trump. The result was page after page of unsubstantiated allegations about Trump’s involvement with Russia, which were promptly planted in the media to influence 2016 voters by creating a nefarious narrative that Trump was somehow beholden to Vladimir Putin. The dossier was also given to the FBI and bureaucrats in other agencies, who used the discredited ...more

The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative site backed by GOP donor/ billionaire Paul Singer is who originally hired Fusion GPS during the Republican primary season- not Marc Elias. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/conservative-site-was-original-funder-of-anti-trump-dossier

The Russia collusion hysteria made it difficult for Trump to staff his administration, and it even led to a powerful special counsel investigation before it was revealed that Elias had paid for the dossier as part of his legal work for the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton campaign. While journalists were encouraged to take the Steele dossier seriously, its origins as untrustworthy partisan opposition research had been hidden in the $5.6 million in legal fees that had been paid to Perkins Coie.48

Here is the FBI's most wanted list in regards to Russian interference in the 2016 election. These charges and indictments came down on July 13, 2018 under the Trump Administration. https://www.fbi.gov/wanted/cyber/russian-interference-in-2016-u-s-elections Also note, the investigation into Russian interference it the 2016 election was NOT started because of the Steele Dossier. The Dossier gave more evidence, but IT was not why the investigation happened. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/russia-probe-timeline-moscow-mueller/story?id=57427441

They sought to find out who funded Fusion GPS’s work. Nunes was attacked for his efforts, but they paid off when it turned out that Elias, Clinton, and the Democrats had been behind the dossier all along.49
Orland Foster
Except that this isn't true. Perkins Cole hired Fusion GPS in May of 2016 . From September of 2015 until May of 2016, the research was being conducted for the conservative/ GOP funding Washington Free Beacon. 9 months of research that the GOP conducted to keep Trump out of office.

Elias’s real passion had long been helping Democrats win elections by changing voting laws.
Orland Foster
And how exactly do you defend this little bit of slander? How does the evil Mr. Elias change these laws? Who gave him the power? What laws does he change to make it easier for Democrats to win? Is it simply that he fights against voter suppression laws to make it easier for everyone to vote? If that helps Democrats its because democrat voters are more often suppressed that GOP voters?

If Elias hadn’t changed the outcome of Al Franken’s election, Obamacare probably would not have passed.
Orland Foster
Elias has amazing powers to be able to change the outcome of an election all by himself. Quite amazing bit of slander there.
