Thoughtful readers familiar with the writings of Moses would therefore clearly understand the following: (1) Genesis 1 portrays God as a creative craftsman going about his week of work, taking rest each night from evening to morning and then having a day of rest at the end. (2) Yet God’s work of creation was vastly different from human work. We do not do the things that God does.
