“I’ve never really thought about threesomes,” I admit. “They just never crossed my mind.” “Think about them now,” Eli suggests. “We’ll wait.” So, I do.
“Daisy, you don’t understand. I’m asking you to stay here for a relationship. As a romantic partner. As a girlfriend.” She sits up. Rumpled curls fall around her face. “What?” I rewind what I just said in my head. “I… don’t know how to say that any more clearly.”
“Excuse me?” I shrug. “I’m going to talk about her. And you’re kind of stuck with me at the moment, aren’t you? Unless you’d rather throw yourself into a snowdrift to avoid confronting your traumatic past.” “I should’ve let you die in that bush,” he mutters. “Hindsight is 20/20,” I say sweetly. “I can still throw you back out there.”
“Yes, well, Eli shouts my name when he comes and kisses me whenever he sees me.”
“F-far too many men already see me as an anonymous shag. I’m not letting the men I actually sleep with do that to me, as well. I’m sure you can take care of yourself.”
“Riv,” I start, reaching for him, but he just shakes his head, leaving. I watch him go, my heart sinking. Cole mutters something in Swedish, kisses me hard on the cheek, and disappears too. It’s just me and Eli, holding each other in the middle of the lounge.
Eli just shrugs. “I own the lube. I don’t own the woman.”
