“Do you have any idea how much I love you?” he asks roughly. “I do,” she says, her voice softening. “I love you too.”

“Cooper. Darling. Love of my life. You know I support you in all things, but are you sure that you want your first new car to be a station wagon?”

We have that in common.

“Well, maybe you should consider making your regret tangible,” Kris snaps. “With a donation to the Trevor Project, for example.”

It doesn’t matter how many times she smiles at me like that; I still forget how to breathe for at least a few seconds.
