Universities are supposed to perform many roles essential to civil society: submitting received wisdom to re-examination; producing fresh research; and turning out graduates who are familiar with a broad range of ideas and able to reason clearly. But as they have adopted gender-identity ideology, they too have taken the side of the censors.
