The manikin from our crime scene comes with some extras. Joel has just emptied onto a tabletop a bag of realistic moulage bear stomach contents: an ear and an eye and a strip of scalp with part of a mohawk haircut. These are passed around among our group. It’s early in the morning for such things. Doughnuts sit untouched. The stomach contents are a match for what’s missing on our manikin’s head, suggesting that indeed the bear, not the wolf, was behind the attack.
