The Nothing That Is

There was a moment where I knew I hated the Rodnickis (and their dipshit kids), but I also understood why they acted the way they did. It was terrifying to be unsure about money. Even more terrifying to let someone else run you over, tell you what to do. So, in self-preservation, they did the running over first.

“Never let a motherfucker like that tell you what to do because there are some people with mouths who’ll eat everything you own and never look back and the only way to put that shit down is nail them down hard the first time. You understand me? You gut those sonuvafucks.”

“I don’t know. Why would you? Shit, McCall. Rodnicki does it because he and his wife want to be big fish in a small pond. You? You’re pondless. You couldn’t give a shit about ponds.”
