And in that not quite your conflict is based.”7 As H. Richard saw it, the issue was neatly summarized in the book’s title. As tough as Reinhold had been on “immoral society,” he still held out belief in “moral man.” Consequently, he remained “too romantic about human nature in the individual,” and thus, was still tethered to the naïve liberalism from which he sought to break free.
