“Well, your first mistake is assuming that it was ever about reading the book in the first place,” I hear her say softly. “Instead, it is about losing yourself in another world altogether.”
“The truth is your body will age and fail, but your imagination will stay young forever. Books are just sustenance for the soul.”
“Yes, I did,” I whisper back to him. “But I can barely walk straight today.” “Forgive me, I don’t see how this is a problem?” he says darkly, narrowing his eyes at me.
