I’m attracted to Rebel, but it’s not just physically. I like talking to her too, and that’s when I think that Rebel has it all wrong. Igniter fluid and a spark mix beautifully together; they go up in flames.
I don’t know what’s happening. It’s not the same kind of protectiveness I feel over Caitlyn. This feels like I’m going alpha. Claiming my girl. Only, she isn’t mine and never will be.
“I want that so badly, but I don’t know what’s going on here, and I don’t want you regretting anything,” I tell her honestly. “That’s sweet,” she says on a sigh. “I’m not sweet, Rebel. I’m confused.”
I realize that every time I’m with Wolfe, he reveals a different part of himself. He isn’t the selfish asshole he wants people to believe he is; that, I already know. But what I hadn’t realized is that Wolfe is hurting. He’s broken like me.
She is a warrior—my warrior—and she accepts me for me. Not because of my last name or who my daddy is, but because she sees me.
