I’m attracted to Rebel, but it’s not just physically. I like talking to her too, and that’s when I think that Rebel has it all wrong. Igniter fluid and a spark mix beautifully together; they go up in flames.
“Are you saying you’re into me?” I ask. “I might be saying that,” she says nervously. “Might isn’t good enough.” I move closer to her bed.
And I don’t know what’s happening here, but I don’t want to screw you over or hurt you, like ever.
“He’s different with me. I can’t explain it, but I don’t see the heartless prick everyone talks about. He’s sweet and caring.”
“I want you, Rebel, and it scares the shit out of me.” He sounds so vulnerable. “I want you too.” He takes a step toward me and claims my lips. And just like that, I am his.
I need Rebel to know how much she’s changed my life for the better, and really, I just want her to know how much I love her.
“I fell in love with you, Rebel. It may not be what I set out to do, but it happened, and I feel like shit for hurting you and not being honest with you,” he says.
“We may come from different worlds,” I say, interrupting her. “But when we’re together, the world makes sense. We fit.”
