After all, it’s the truth. Epictetus teaches us to remind ourselves that, it is not the external circumstances that create the insult, but our judgments, as is recorded in the Enchiridion:   “Remember, that not he who gives ill language or a blow insults, but the principle which represents these things as insulting.
