Marilyn’s family started to worry when she didn’t turn up for Christmas dinner a few days later. Even though she was killed very close to her home, her body was not found until 6 January, which must have made for an unendurable few weeks for her family, her parents and brother and sister, nieces and nephews. Questions were asked about why she wasn’t found for so long, when her route home would have been obvious, and she wasn’t buried or hidden.
