According to the Standard Model of particle physics, there are thirty-seven kinds of elementary particles (differentiated by mass, charge, and spin), which interact according to four fundamental forces (gravity, electromagnetism, nuclear strong force, nuclear weak force), as well as hypothetical gravitons, which some scientists believe are responsible for gravitational effects.[56]
