When I moved back to Chikalu after the service, I’d looked for her. I asked around if anyone knew a Joanna. There were a couple of Jos, a Josephine, a JoBeth, but no Joanna. A last name would be helpful. But for all my asking around the college, library searches, and late-night Google searches, nothing.

I needed to steel myself against the reality that Finn and Joanna would likely end up together. If I were to be in his life, that was a fact I would need to accept. Hammering the gas, I stared ahead as I drove down the block to the bar.
ok, but my thing is, are you okay with your brother being with someone who is just plain cheating on him like that? i know that's not at all what happened but from Lincolns perspective, Jo is kind of a thot, and I wouldn't want my brother with someone who is that disloyal.
“Finn.” I looked at my baby brother. He was good and strong and kind. His love was more than I deserved. “I’m sorry you couldn’t tell me sooner.”
