The five wellbeing elements have an additive effect on performance and health. Gallup has studied this additive effect on several health and work outcomes. It seems obvious that working on your physical wellbeing would improve your health outcomes, but that’s not sustainable on its own. For example, compared with those who score high on physical wellbeing alone, those who score high on all five elements report 41% fewer unhealthy days. Like stairsteps, disease burden, burnout, anxiety and associated costs are lower the more of the five elements you are thriving in.
