"Chris," Billy whispered urgently. I waved my hand. "Just let it happen, Billy. Somethings are too good to worry about the consequences."
He seemed to catch some idea of what was going on and I swear I just made the ruler of hell roll his eyes.
"Was that necessary, Chris Price?" "When you ignore my keep-out signs, you get to deal with the unruly customers," I replied, relying on snark to cover my fear.
"Price?" "Yes, Lucifer?" "Why is your hellhound shaped like a Pomeranian?" "I have no freaking idea. He showed up that way." The demon chuckled.
Damn horse was not an herbivore. And he threw a fit any time I tried to get into my car.
"Ezra doing house chores with his magic?" I snorted at the image.
"I can scream really loudly if something goes wrong, but that's about it."
He nodded. "Yes, this is troubling on many levels." She snickered. "Understatement."
"Great, who are you again?" Martin asked. "Death." They stared.
"If being with you in person wasn't so much fun, I'd be tempted to possess you again just so we would never be apart."
Demon princes did not panic,
"You just...have Lucifer's cell phone number? He has a cell phone?"
"The only thing I want is a place to belong."
Azrael still looked like a pale, nerdy dude sitting on a white horse.
"Yeah, well my sarcasm has served me well in the past. It'll probably save me here, too."
"Malak, if you don't feed from one of us, I'm going to drive a stake through your heart and leave you in a closet
