Worldviews are inherently religious. Even if one does not believe in a traditional concept of God, one will believe in something that is ultimate. For instance, the term “atheism” depends upon the term “theism” to have any meaning at all. (Even the preferred term of many atheists today, “naturalism,” is juxtaposed with “supernaturalism.”) Because worldviews are inherently religious, they compete and conflict with each other.
