Instead of asking why Finn had gotten involved, perhaps he should be asking why Alfred had taken an interest in him. Why had the AI chosen Finn as the fire avatar? Or, for that matter, why had the AI chosen Jason? Or Alex? Most of the people Alfred had selected were all located in the same city and had a loose connection to Cerillion Entertainment. One was a coincidence. Two? Three? That was a pattern.
