All the sources ramp up the narrative tension with Caesar being reluctant to attend the Senate that day. He was feeling sick, he’d had bad dreams, his wife Calpurnia had had bad dreams, there were all these omens and Calpurnia was nervous. Meanwhile the conspirators waited nervously at the Senate House. Decimus Brutus was eventually sent to find Caesar and convince him to come to work.
