There’s quite a lot of academic debate over whether this court included ‘amateur’ murderers or just ‘professional ones’ but it is enormously technical and very, very boring. It exists because whatever law was being enforced by Gaius’ court is lost completely and we have no records of any of the trials that took place there so we have simply no idea what they were for or what they did.
