I nod. Somehow hearing her name in his voice hits twice as hard as hearing it in my own head.
There's no FEELING in this book. No pain. No angst. No longing. I'm 40% in and there's a significant lack of character depth.
“Reid,” I whimper.
She hasn't called him this a single time. Wtf. I get the use of the nick name to show that they've grown closer, but it's so freaking SUDDEN that even as a plot device, it's jarring and shouldn't be used in this instance. Maybeeeeee if he'd insisted more often than just one time that she call him that, but she didn't do so because she was trying to distance him... this could have worked then. But as is, it's so JARRING.
