Reginald moves so fast my eyes can hardly detect it. His fangs tear through Derek’s throat, splattering his blood across the grass. I gasp and jump back a step as his limp body collapses into the bushes. When Reginald turns back around, his fangs are still extended, dripping with Derek’s blood, his eyes glowing in the moonlight.
Okay, but why? It doesn't make sense to *kill* the people that don't cooperate, even if it is law.
Is it some sort of perverse power dynamic? To make sure the others obey? I don't understand it.
