To be a skeptic is not merely to doubt everything simply because one can, nor to be rendered catatonic by fear of the unknown; skepticism requires giving trust when the evidence is unexceptionable, even if (as fallibilism requires) we may end up being wrong. Warrant isn’t proof, but it’s the best that science has to offer.
