One day I asked the white hat hackers who had been bringing me up to speed to rate for me the security of these voting systems we were researching. I told them to use 1 = "worst" and 10 = "best" to rate the systems. Their considered answer was: “2, maybe a 1”. Let me point out that a year ago, this was not considered a partisan issue. We all wanted elections that were fair, free, and transparent, and we all had misgivings about where we stood thanks to these new machines.
