How many times and for how many years do I have to tell you that you’re drop dead gorgeous? More gorgeous than your sister. On the outside and inside. Just because society and our own damn community has fucked up views of dark skin doesn’t mean that it actually makes you unattractive. Your sister wishes she was as beautiful as you are. Which is why she’s always doing and saying things to put you down. She doesn’t want you to realize your worth or your power. And neither does your trifling husband.”
“That woman. She is the poster child for self-hatred. She acts like you didn’t get your gorgeous ebony skin from her.” Dez reached across the countertop and grabbed Jett’s hand. “You do realize it’s not about you, right? It’s always been her fighting her demons about hating her own dark skin.”
Sometimes even in our own community, the self-hatred and desire to align themselves with lighter or white is their problem. Only small-minded men will be unable to see your height, your size, and your color are just as beautiful as any other woman. You make them feel inferior. But one day, you will meet a man who finds every inch of you perfect. Just like your dear old dad. You’re perfect just the way you are, baby girl.”
As they say, ‘beauty fades.’ You can only get by so long on charming people with looks.
“Freya is the Goddess of Fate and Destiny. She represents all things beauty and love. I believed you must be her.”
“You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. I’ve never laid my eyes upon anyone who looks like you. I believed you must be Freya and that you brought me here because it was fated.”
“I do not believe I have ever seen a backside more lovely than yours. I think I like these jeans on the female form. Shieldmaidens wear pants, but none quite as tight as these. Tis quite pleasing to the eye.”
“Keep your eyes to yourself.” Jerrik’s deep voice threw her earlier words back in her face. “Especially if you have no plans on satisfying my desires.”
“I have not been here long, but I have seen the way other women look at me. If I only wanted my iron wet, there are many a welcoming quim to satisfy it. It is you I desire.” Jerrik cupped the side of Jett’s face. “All of me, not just my cock. I know not what it means. But I am a man who goes on instinct. It is why I have survived this long. And the gods are telling me that you must be protected and worshiped while I am here. I plan to honor their wishes.”
“I would not be so sure. I am certain that in the future the words ‘Yes, my laird,’ will fall from your lips, whilst mine are pressed firmly between your thighs.” Jerrik said nonchalantly.
“I am no longer a stranger to you. And we do not have to have sex for me to show you pleasure. We will not join our bodies in that way until you ask for it.” “I won’t ever ask for it.” “You will. But that is neither here nor there.”
Those with white skin were deemed superior and those with darker skin inferior. It became a system of control. And it’s still going on today. Where those of us with darker skin have to fight for the rest of the world to see our humanity,” Jett said heavily.
“Then wear something longer. But I would advise you not to wear them again,” Jerrik ordered. “W-Why?” “I will destroy every pair I find you in.” Sweet baby Jesus! I think my vagina purred.
“I told him that being cruel to people weaker than him only made him look weak. A true warrior protects those who cannot protect themselves. And that he would never be a part of my Viking clan acting as such,” Jerrik said.
“I said that I am yours and you are mine. Where you go, I go. Where I go, you go. Simple as that.” Jerrik said.
“Ek elska pik,” Jerrik whispered in her ear before falling asleep.
“I know you are nervous.” He leaned into her to whisper. “I know your mother and sister often say unkind things to you. But I can assure you, you take my breath away. And will do the same to anyone who sees you tonight. And they cannot take that away from you.”
“Who are you?” Shawn said indignantly. “Jett’s future. Am I to guess you are her regrettable past?” “Oh shit!” Dez hissed under her breath.
“I’d break you, little girl. And why would I forsake a goddess for a peasant?” Jerrik turned to Jett, fully dismissing her twin sister. “Trust me, my love. In this time or another, there will never be anyone else.” The world fell away.
